Each figure is the middle half of published prices, checked October 2026. The puppy price is for getting the dog used to grooming, not for a finished style. Expect the first adult full groom, at four to six months, to be priced on the normal list for the breed.
What moves the price
- Size and coat. Where groomers price puppies by size, the middle half is £24 to £31 for a small puppy (12 prices), £30 to £40 for a medium one (5) and £30 to £45 for a large one (8).
- Age. Prices usually apply up to four or six months; older puppies move onto the adult price list.
- How much is done. A visit with only a bath and nail clip costs less than a session that includes a face, feet and hygiene trim or a first light clip.
- Courses. Booking three or more sessions in advance usually costs less per visit than paying separately.
- Free visits. Two groomers in the data offer a free first visit to meet the salon, and the lowest paid introduction is £10 for 20 minutes.

How often should a puppy go to the groomer?
Every two to four weeks during an introduction course is common. After that, the interval depends on the coat: 4 to 8 weeks for a poodle, 6 to 12 for poodle crosses, 6 to 8 for long silky coats, and 8 to 12 for smooth and double coats.
Up to what age is a puppy groom?
Most groomers apply puppy prices up to four or six months, and a few up to a year. After that the dog moves onto the adult price list for its breed or size.
